Vidya Thirunarayan is a professional artist, a Bharata Natyam performer and tutor who trained at the renowned Kalakshetra School of Fine Arts in Chennai, India. She has over 25 years of experience in dance performance, choreography and training. Her work had been largely supported by Arts Council England and she has toured internationally.
Vidya, has considerable experience in delivering dance training both within the community and the formal education sector including universities. Vidya’s dance performance work has been supported by Arts Council England.
Vidya has been a blessing to the local community, teaching and providing selfless service to children from as small as 5 years to adults. She has inspired children as far as Portsmouth, Southampton and beyond to come and participate in dance workshops.
Vidya currently holds Bharata Natyam and Carnatic Music classes for children and adults at the Westergate Methodist Church Hall, Westergate, and Chichester, PO20 3RH.
Professional Potter
Vidya is also a professional potter. She makes contemporary hand-thrown functional pottery inspired by dance, India and life. In recent years her performance work has brought together her two passion, dance and clay. In addition to selling functional pottery she runs clay workshops. Her pottery and dance work has been now also a part of activities at Chichester Festival Theatre.

Chichester Vedic Cultural Society, feel grateful to Vidya for her untiring and selfless contribution towards the Community. She has given numerous Indian Classical Dance performances and has also motivated several of her young students to perform on various Social and Cultural events organised by the Society for several years.
Chichester Vedic Cultural Society during their annual cultural event in 2016, with the help and supervision of Vidya Thirunarayan organised a Clay Ganesha Workhop for children. This was held at Donnington Parish Hall, Donnington, Chichester and thoroughly enjoyed by children of all age groups and their parents as well.
