VOICES FROM THE KILN
Chichester Vedic Cultural Society is pleased to support the event of Voices from the Kiln. Please attend in great numbers and enjoy the art creation in its full glory – 18th January 2022 at the Chichester Festival Theatre. (All quries to be address to the organisers of the event – detail below).
A performance that interweaves Bharatanatyam dance, film, text and clay.
Voices from the Kiln is created by movement director, Debbie Fionn Barr and performer/ potter, Vidya Thirunarayan. The performance interweaves Bharatanatyam dance, film, text and clay to expose the fragile edges of memory that unearth fragments of lives, both real and imagined, which silently leave their imprint on clay and the human body. The evocative imagery and compelling text echo stories of dirt, displacement and toil…revealing our human need to belong.
The show will appeal to the whole family, and is followed by the chance to join in the interactive space Café Clay – a post-performance interactive space, where audience and artist share conversation, questions and observations about the performance. Audience members are encouraged to engage in a little playfulness with clay and indulge their curiosity about Bharatanatyam during the café session, under the expert eye of Vidya Thirunarayan.
