Navaratri 2017 Festival

Chichester Vedic Cultural Society with the help of the Community and Volunteers organised Navaratri Pooja Cultural Festival on 24th September (SUNDAY) 2017 with great pride.

This had a overwhelming support. Navaratri, (9 nights) is one of the greatest Hindu festivals.. It symbolises the triumph of good over evil. It is also known as  the Durga Pooja. it is celebrated by getting together for Garbha and other Indian dances and also nightly feasts.

Our Chief guests for this year were : Mrs. & Mr. Peter Evans, Mayor of Chichester, Mrs. & Mr. Raj Sharma Mayor of Crawley 2016-2017, and Priest of Donnington Parish Hall  Mrs. & Mr. James Cooper.

Various religious and cultural activities were: Goddess Durga Pooja and Havan, Garbha and Dandiya dance, Bharatnatyam dance by Prithvi Dance Group, Balagokulam by Mr Akshat Mehta and an outstanding support by Hampshire and West Sussex Hindu Samajam representative Mr Manu and attended by various Malyali families. CVCS is grateful to all who supported and attended the event. Bollywood and Rafi Voice Golden Award winner Mr Rahi Bains who mesmerised every body with his golden voice singing Man Tarpat Hai Hari Darsha Ko Aaj.
